Machine Masters

We’re all machines
waiting on standby
until our controller
flips our switches
and reconfigures our settings.

We’re plugged in
and charged up,
we’re ready to answer
to the commands
and the demands
of our masters.

When their hands
reach our controls
and our gears start to turn,
they type in the code
to set us as they want.

Whether we wish
to give in or not,
our desires are unimportant,
our opinions are irrelevant.

We are forced
to cooperate and to follow
the rules and the guidelines
that have been programed
into our system’s hard drive.
