Writing Challenge!

I would like to begin a new challenge, but this time, for you! If you have been following my posts for awhile now, you probably know how much I like a good writing challenge, so I decided to create another one- the 1 minute poem/story.
I love writing fast, and getting the words out as soon as they come to me because I feel like they lose their importance once they’ve been thought over for very long.
I wrote this poem down without stopping to think of a certain word, editing, or anything like that and it took me about 1 minute. So, I decided I’d like to see what other writers come up with in 1 minute!
There aren’t any prompts- just write whatever you’re thinking, questioning, or feeling.

Is everyone a poet?
Does anyone even know?
Do we all have what it takes
to soothe our damaged souls?

Does ink course through all of our veins?
Do words speak as loud
to everyone who’s ever dealt
with pain inside and out?

Or does it even take
any sort of turmoil within
to give us words to write our stories
and help us pick up the pen?

  16. This is great, and I’m impressed that you were able to write it under a minute. I completely agree with your insight about ideas having more meaning without sitting there being edited for so long; I strive to write like that, but trying something under a minute will be very interesting, thanks.

    1. Thank you! I just think words have more meaning when their said in the moment, not after hours of editing and deliberation.
      And it is interesting, and fun in my opinion 🙂
